Collection: Melanie Abrantes Designs

Inspired by Dr. Mae Jemison, an American engineer, physician, and former NASA astronaut. She became the first Black woman to travel into space in 1992. Size: 3.25" x 3.25" x 9" Materials: Ebonized Oak Hardwood, Silver Metallic Glass

In every Marais vase, the materials -- colored glass and hardwood -- combine to create an object that is both art sculpture and functional. Inspired by the natural beauty of the raw material, Abrantes designed each piece to speak for itself. These one of a kind vases are made from a solid piece of hardwood Maple and then hand-dyed using a unique process in our studio. Through this dying process, the pigments separate and organically travel through the water the piece is dyed in, creating an unexpected and beautiful result each time. Each one comes out unique and one of a kind, resulting in colors of midnight, ecru and crimson. Size: 3.25" x 3.25" x 8" Materials: Maple Hardwood, Silver Metallic Glass
